Bute Looms

It is with great excitement that we announce the launch of Bute Looms. As we head towards 2022, when we mark our 75 year anniversary we take the opportunity to revive the Bute Looms brand.

The original Bute fabrics namesake designed and manufactured, hand-woven woollen fabrics for luxury fashion houses such as Dior, Balenciaga, Chloe, Yves Saint Laurent and Mary Quant. And was featured on the cover of Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Vanity Fair known internationally for contemporary and innovative designs.

For years Bute Fabrics has been manufacturing a huge array of textiles for private label clients globally, whilst maintaining a small stock collection under the Bute fabrics name, its now time for us to showcase our wider capabilities with this new collection of accessories.

Bute Looms debut collection features two designs, Peggy & Rover which are reinvented patterns from the extensive archives dating back to the 1950’s. The two blanket designs are crafted in 100% Scottish Lambswool. In addition, the range includes fashion and home accessories in a variety of natural fibres such as Wool, Cashmere and Mohair.

“Launching a contemporary design-led accessories brand is a superb and exciting opportunity for Bute Fabrics. Our rich archive provides the ideal basis for creating unique and aspirational Bute Looms accessories and the Bute Family are hugely encouraging in this creative luxury division re-birth. Mount Stuart House is a beautiful example of the family’s historic ground-breaking innovation. ”

John Glen, Managing Director
